Phil Mickelson with a chance to win the PGA Championship tomorrow…

Big day tomorrow as the ageless wonder Phil Mickelson will look to take down the PGA Championship at the ripe age of 50. He played some phenomenal golf today and other than slip ups on 12 and 13 would be running away with this tournament. I anticipate our Maine and Mass players to hang around the course and make sure they catch the end of the championship while throwing a few back. Good luck to all our players tomorrow, and Good luck to Phil. I don’t know about everyone else but I certainly will be pulling for him.

What a day we had yesterday as we had 58 players travel to the sticks of Enfield, NH to play what I consider to be one of the top 5 courses in the state. Conditions were ideal and the course was set up just right for some of our players to go out and post some decent numbers. Chris Hatem fired a 76, while Jim Tokanel managed his way to a 78 to take down low gross honors. Both guys just played steady golf throughout, Hatem was just a par machine through the front as he slipped up only on the short par 4 8th for a bogey to finish at 37 on the front, He settled for 4 bogeys on the back while carding a birdie 3 on a difficult 18th to come in with a 39. Hell of a round. Jimmy Toke had a sporadic front carding 5 bogeys, but settled down on the turn to just have 2 bogeys and a bird to come in with a 37.

Rob Tokanel took down low Net Honors today as he won by playing as the lower cap and takine the tie breaker over Barry Rogers. Rob came out slow out of the gate and doubled 2 out of the first 3 holes but settled in just going +2 over the next 5. He doubled both par 5s on the back but managed 4 pars and a birdie to keep himself at the top of the leaderboard to claim victory. Barry came out of the gate firing through the first five and played just a few over par but a triple on 6 slowed him down just a bit, He remained mentally tough carding a bird on the next hole and finished with a great 41 on the side. Barry played a great back including a birdie on a tough par 3 17th.

Great turnout and a great time, LFG NH will be teeing it up again in just 14 days as we will be heading to Litchfield, NH and making our first appearance at Passaconaway CC.

Talor Gooch refunds bettors after MC

Quick story I caught recently was like Talor Good was venmoing everyone who bet on him refunds for his poor performance last week. He also was going back and forth with a fellow twitter hardo who was trying to get Gooch to come play a $50,000 round of Mini Golf. Which Gooch was more than willing to do but the other player did not show a confirmation of funds. Pretty funny story though.

Josiah Blevins on Twitter: “@TalorGooch He is a man of his word. Thank you!” / Twitter

Talor also hooked up a few people who admitted they did not bet on him but just wanted to go grab Chipotle.

Casey Bell on Twitter: “Just became the biggest @TalorGooch fan … can you buy golf jerseys?” / Twitter

Definitely a great story, golfers are awesome people and sometimes when we see them on TV making shots we can only imagine making we forget they are just down to earth people.
