What a headline, and what a round! Nippo lake although short, played as one of the more challenging courses of the year for the tour guys. Rob Wenrich was able to sneak out the victory of Scott Matson by Virtue of the breaker. Wenrich came out firing with a net eagle on 1 which was the only birdie recorded on the opening first at the Nip to get his round going. He followed up the net eagle with a birdie on 2 and felt the flow from there. Rest of the round was a grind as he lost 2 strokes over the final 7 on the front to make the turn at -1. With Bogeys on 10 and 12 he fell back to the field as was +1 at that point and knew he had to try to survive at that point. He Birdied 13 and 14 to get back to under par but finished the last 4 holes with 3 bogeys to finish his round at +2. Those birdies on 13 and 14 ended up being the deciding factor over Matson as the tie breaker was tied on the back 9 and came down the final 6 holes which Wenrich was the victor.
