Dave Christian Wins the Season Finale at the Nip

Dave Christian Wins the Season Finale at the Nip

We thought it was going to be a player above par as the groups came in and +1 Tom Murphy looked to be in phenomonal shape to take down his first win of the season but Dave Christian snuck in to take top honors by firing a 85/66 on his way to victory. With the course rating and this event being played at just 85% it was difficult for players to get under par but Dave played some solid golf and eliminated the big numbers on his way to the win. Nippo is a challenging but fair course and is the shortest we have on the schedule to being able to fire on all cylinders off the tee is a must and Dave did that and was able to get up and down when he missed greens and limit his makes for all 18 holes. Tom Murphy who shot a gross 77 finally came into form after fighting a bit with his game early in the season. Tom needed a good finish today to get some momentum going into the playoffs and it was great to see that. Andy Paul and Pat Blair rounded out the top 4. With this high finish Pat Blair finds himself in 2nd place of the season long race. Quite impressive having only played 6 events total this year and has 5 top 10's including 1 win, he has made the most of his limited opportunities.

We only had 6 skin winners this event as Tom Murphy led the way by grabbing 2 skins. Christian, Shaw, Wenrich and Mungere also all were able to grab a skin to win some cash.

Our next event is Sept 8th at Canterbury woods which is our first playoff event of the season and the fun will begin as the rankings will shuffle up quite a bit from here forward as points become a premium and all events count. Levenson who has built quite the lead will have his work cut out for him to hold this lead over the next 3 rounds and find himself as the leader going into our championship.
