Tom Boland Cruises in Victory at Candia Woods
Tom Boland took advantage of a very get-able course to shoot a personal best 80 and run away with the the first playoff event last week. Although this course was set up for a lot of players to put up some good scores Tom was able to card a 40 on the front and matched it on the back to have the 2nd lowest net score only beaten by season points leader Scott Sheehan who was able to card a Net 79.
Tom Boland has a season average of a 98.8 so to card an 80 was quite a pleasant surprise. Shooting as well as he did enabled TB to move up 11 spots by grabbing 1250 points and get himself into the 7th spot for the season long race.
Big jumps were also made by Jason Leach and Brandt Wild who both shot very respectful rounds. Brandt who shot a season best 91, and Jason shot an 83 also was at a personal best to round the top 3 and move up a lot of spots and will be back on track this weekend coming up at Amherst CC.
The top 3 of the season long points total remains the same as Scott Sheehan (3925), Tim Woodger (3775), and Pat Blair (3600) will be battling it out down to the wire as the season goes. Points will be at a premium this week and every position will matter from here on out. It really can be anyone’s game if a player to able to get hot from here on out with with still a potential of a possible 5200 points still out there for our winners.
